LESSON OVERVIEW
On Day 5, students complete the Local History Mini-Inquiry by finalizing and communicating a defensible interpretation. They submit their local-history mini-inquiry and source-analysis record, participate in short presentations or a gallery walk, and respond to classmates using evidence-based comments or questions. Students also complete a short diagnostic paired-source check and reflect on their strongest historian skill, a skill that still needs practice, and evidence that supports their self-rating. The unit closes by connecting the Historian’s Workshop to Unit 1 and asking students to identify a responsible next step. The unit plan identifies Day 5 as Reflect → Act, with evidence of learning including the final mini-inquiry, ACT-style check, competency reflection, and next step.
