LESSON OVERVIEW

On Day 3, students investigate enormous spans of time by comparing regular timelines with scaled timelines. Students sequence major events from the Big Bang to early Earth and begin to understand that chronology is more than memorizing order. It is a tool for making sense of change. Students also consider how scale changes the story we tell. A human lifetime, a thousand years, a million years, and a billion years reveal very different patterns. Students also complete ACT-Style Quiz 0A, the Baseline Source & Literacy Diagnostic.
